Track Name: Shackled Visions
i. Crossroads

These crossroads are tearing me apart
the rhythm of this life is out of time.
Can you hear the clock now?
can you hear me talk now?
'Cause i've been screaming for two years.
and i'm still yearning for your ears...

ii. The Devil's Staircase

The city was cold the day I was told it was true.
And the visions that I seen stayed inside of me,
they stayed inside of me.
And now i'm only awake when I sleep,
because that's when you come,
that's when you come to me.
oh and it was such a brutal truth.
and how the photograph confirmed what i already knew.
I only wish you knew that today i had to walk
deep into that valley just to forget about you,
where on the devil's staircase the wind held my hand,
and i closed my eyes
as it cast me adrift to peaceful land.

iii. Shackled Visions

I'm just another restless soul
standing on the face of a bright red sun
among a herd of other ones
waiting to be told why the past it burns.

And it always seemed so easy as a child
the visions that you have
involving such a simple life.
They never taught me about hierarchy at that age
or how imagination doesn't chime with the modern way -
a place where there is only seven days
that repeat
over and over
and over again.

Although even in the darkness we shall confide
as we share our shackled visions,
to survive.

iv. Epilogue

I built a statue to you
and i can't smash it down
oh i've tried and i've tried -
but i made it too strong.

it is my future
and it is my past

i remember those days
like they were my last
Track Name: Green Grow the Rashes
Words by Robert Burns.
Track Name: Funeral Song
I never want to put a black tie on again
i'm terrified of all the things it represents.
there's sorrow in that colour,
and that naught is a noose.
i've seen thousands of friends lost to it,
and all just like you.

"oh but security"; "oh but stability" -
never mind serenity, save that for once a year.

I see the city lights reflect in your vacant eyes;
as the gold drops from your pockets
the muscles deplete around your thighs.
And this is not a drama -
it is a tragedy,
though the victim
will not realise

until it is too late.

until it is too late.

until it is too late.

get ready to say goodbye.

is it over? tell me it's not over.
Track Name: Act 2, Scene 010
On the top floor the lions soar, as down below a city once filled with hope is in flames.

A man is stuck between bloodstained teeth, he tries to run - corrupted - alas, his fate is sealed.

[A close up of his eyes]

A bead of sweat drips from his brow, and as the flames engulf the screen a name drifts from his lips.

With the last of his strength the only thing he can think to say is "goodbye, my dear. Goodbye".

A new day dawns and a child is born amidst a cloud of smoke [sirens wail as the mother screams].

Somewhere nearby lovers run, they dodge metal bullets fired from a plastic gun.

[Pan out to a birds eye view]

Clusters of humans run like ants, scared of one another, and the flames are closing in.

The flames keep closing in.
Track Name: Dear Elita
I heard your voice for the first time and it sent a shiver down my spine. The venom with which you scream could tear down walls and build them back up again. And yet i understand so little of what you say - the language is foreign to me - still i'm sure we share an affinity. some kind of chemistry. But i'm aware that this is a tragedy, for we'll never meet or share a history, though I still dream.

Trapped in this city i wonder where you are and if you are happy, because personally i feel lost. I know you were interested in anomie - i wish there was some advice you could give me, cause it's taking forever for this turmoil to pass; a prolonged requiem mass for a youth that's dying fast.

can you help me become what i want to be?
can you help me realise my dreams, please, Elita?
Track Name: Fade to Black
Buildings built up and then brought down,
memories you've forgotten;
hope like a tide rises, subsides
stars faded, once so bright.

The walls tell me you said goodbye,
and that you said it with closed eyes.
Controlled your tears like all those childhood fears
and you turned your back.

Minutes to days,
days to months;
a head weighed down with regret.
Silence screams in hope filled dreams,
with the sunset comes a burst of change.

Streetlights off, fade to black
the walls say you've found your own path;
roundabout fears and hopes
a million wishes up in smoke.

The walls tell me you said goodbye,
and that you said it with closed eyes.
Controlled your tears like all those childhood fears
and you turned your back.
